Terms of Service

The rules for using Lumara Links: what is allowed, what is not, and what you can expect from the service.

Last updated:

Agreement

These terms apply to your use of Lumara Links, the link shortener and QR code generator provided by Lumara. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Lumara Links lets you create short links that redirect to web addresses you provide, generate QR codes, and view basic click statistics. The service is free and does not require an account.

We may add, change or remove features at any time. Additional or paid features may be offered in the future; if so, they will be clearly described and will never be charged without your explicit agreement.

Acceptable use

You may use Lumara Links for any lawful purpose. You are responsible for the links and QR codes you create and for making sure you have the right to share the content they lead to.

Prohibited content

You must not create links or QR codes that lead to, or are used for:

  • malware, viruses or any software designed to damage or gain unauthorised access to devices or data;
  • phishing, impersonation, scams or any attempt to deceive people into giving up money, credentials or personal information;
  • content that sexually exploits or endangers children;
  • content that is illegal, or that promotes violence, terrorism or hatred against people;
  • harassment, threats, or the publication of someone's private information without consent;
  • infringement of copyright, trademarks or other rights;
  • spam or unsolicited bulk messages;
  • pages whose main purpose is to hide the true destination from the people who will click.

Abuse of the service

You must not interfere with the service or use it in a way that harms other users. In particular, you must not:

  • bypass or attempt to bypass rate limits or other protective measures;
  • create links in bulk by automated means without our written permission;
  • probe, scan or test the service for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
  • use the service to build redirect chains or to evade security filters;
  • claim aliases in order to impersonate another person, brand or organisation.

We may disable or delete any short link, without notice, if we believe it breaks these terms, puts people at risk, or harms the service or its reputation. We may also refuse to shorten particular addresses or domains.

If you come across a Lumara short link that you believe is harmful or unlawful, please report it to shortener@lumara.chat with the short link and a brief explanation.

Service availability

We work to keep Lumara Links available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. Short links may stop working because of maintenance, technical failure, removal under these terms, or the end of the service.

Do not rely on a short link as the only record of an important address. Keep a copy of your original links.

Your responsibilities

  • Make sure the addresses you shorten are accurate and lawful.
  • Test your links and QR codes before publishing or printing them.
  • Be honest with the people you share links with about where they lead.
  • Comply with the laws that apply to you, including rules on marketing messages and privacy.

Intellectual property

The Lumara Links name, design and software belong to Lumara or its licensors. You keep all rights in the content you link to. QR codes you generate are yours to use freely, including commercially.

No warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumara will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. This includes losses caused by a short link or QR code that fails, is removed or leads somewhere unexpected.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
